Microface is a small family run company specialising in finding solutions to technical problems involving accurate measurement and control.
As a "Think Tank" Microface works in conjunction with companies such as GEC Alsthom, Froude Hofmann Pruftechnik and Krauss GmbH by providing the control packages (software, hardware and installation) for their test dynamometers. These have been supplied to many companies, e.g. Leyland Trucks, Ferodo, BBA Friction, Roulunds (UK and Denmark), Osinek - Czechoslovakia and include brake test dynamometers (both rolling road and inertia) and end of production line power test rolling roads. Areas of expertise include three term digital servo control for speed, constant pressure, and constant torque.
Microface has also been involved with prestigious projects such as computerised ultrasonic testing of the external fuel tank of the US space shuttle and state of the art robotics in the manufacture of the US stealth bomber canopy. Other military projects have included steering mechanisms for unmanned submarines used by the US Navy in the Gulf war.
